Dominicans ready to support Tropic of Blood

HBO, the prestigious American cable television, auspiciió the world premiere of the film in New York Tropic Tropic of Blood,
Starring Michelle Rodriguez, Juan Fernandez and Cesar Evora and Celines Toribio, the premiere of film production was staged during a "Dominican Night" of the New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF).
The projection of the first Dominican film historical drama was performed at Columbia University Columbia Alumni Theater at 7:00 pm.
Launched in 1999, the NYILFF is the only event of its kind in New York which has the endorsement of the committee of entertainment and Latino press office of Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
The festival has distinguished itself by projecting the film realizations of Latinos living in the U.S. and Latin America, as well as celebrate cultural diversity and innovative spirit of community in American society.
Tropic of Blood deals with the aftermath of the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo and the role played by the sisters Minerva, Patria and Maria Teresa Mirabal as part of a conspiracy that sought to overthrow him.
Among the actors appearing in the cast is counted Celinés Toribio, Sharlene Taulé, Liche Ariza, Victor Czech, Sergio Carlo, Mario Lebron, Miguel Angel Martinez, Amaury Perez and Carmen Brugal.
